Government, industry and associations discuss the impacts and the processes for switching off analog TV in Brasília-DF

Besides bringing together the top exponents from the broadcast and new media industries, the event will also host representatives of the MCTI, Anatel, Abratel, Abert, Astral, Avec and EBC to deal with Brazil’s most challenging transition

 

On November 22nd and 23rd, from 9 am until 6 pm, the Hotel Brasília Imperial, in Brasília (DF), will host the SET Mid-West Seminar on Broadcast Technology and New Media, Production, Transmission and Distribution of Electronic Multimedia Content, which consists of conferences and an area for demonstrations of equipment by the largest global manufacturers in the industry

In addition, the scope of debates and presentations includes issues of major importance for Brazil, like the process for freeing up the 700 MHZ frequency; the broadcasting spectrum – a world scenario, the switch-off and Gired, among others that are dictating the future of radio and TV. 

SET Mid-West is an integral part of a series of encounters organized and run by SET, the technical and scientific association that operates in the areas of engineering in the fields of television, telecommunications, radio and the internet, in every region of Brazil (SET South, SET North, SET Mid-West, SET Northeast and SET Southeast).

In Brasília-DF, the event is organized by Emerson Weirich, Mid-West Regional Director of SET and executive manager for radio and television engineering at Empresa Brasil de Comunicação EBC, with the support of the Brazilian Radio and Television Association –  Abratel; the Brazilian Association of Radio and TV Stations – Abert; the Brazilian Association of Parliamentary Television and Radio Channels – Astral; the Association of Communication Vehicles in the Federal District – Avec and the EBC

In addition, it will also see the participation of the most important companies in the audiovisual industry: Bridge Technologies, Media Portal, Avid Technology, Canon, Eutelsat, EVS, SAM, SES, SNews, Teleponto, Sony and Videodata.
