Panel debates new business models with the evolution of TV 3.0

To discuss the opportunities for the broadcasting industry and the business models that can arise from the evolution of TV are the main aims of the panel on “TV 3.0 New business models”, to take place from 3:40 to 5 pm on August 27, within the schedule of the 2019 Set Expo Conference. The Conference is part of the largest technology, media and entertainment business event in Latin America and one of the world’s largest, SET EXPO, which takes place between next August 26 and 29 at the Expo Center Norte Convention Center, in São Paulo.

The panel will be chaired by Raymundo Barros, an executive with a long career in the field of TV technology systems engineering and, since 2014, Technology Director at Rede Globo. He will have for company the Strategy and Regulatory Affairs manager in the  technology department at TV Globo, Ana Eliza Faria e Silva, who will be co-moderator.

What these two have in common is their work in implementing and standardizing Digital TV in Brazil. At the hot session, they will build a view of the future for the TV business.

The evolution of terrestrial Digital TV presents a series of new technologies, including systems such as the ATSC 3.0, the evolution of the ISDB-T in Japan, and 4G/5G Broadcast, among others, in addition to new audio and video formats, encoding standards, multiplexing, transportation, modulation, transmission and integration with the internet, interactivity and accessibility.

The advance of TV 3.0 offer users a new experience, where elements like customization through the use of OTT providers and other tools can generate rich and highly individualized interactions, thus increasing view engagement and creating new business opportunities.

This will be the 31st Technology, Media and Entertainment Business Conference staged by SET. The entity expects to attract 2,000 attendees, who will watch over 50 panels and 200 talks over the four days of the event.
