SET is participating at the 2018 NAB Show with a range of activivities

SET (Brazilian Society of Television Engineering) is participating in yet another edition of the NAB Show, with a tailor-made agenda, and the aim of further strengthening the ties between the US and the Brazilian content and media technology markets. “Our presence at the NAB Show targets to encourage the exchange of experiences and knowledge, to offer professional development and to foster business opportunities,” says SET President, engineer Liliana Nakonechnyj.

The agenda SET has put together for this year is the outcome of 28 years’ experience at the event, and is centered on the three-day early morning seminar specially created for the US show: SET Breakfast @ NABShow (SET e Trinta), a meeting point for Brazilian professionals visiting Las Vegas.

In 2018, the seminar was completely overhauled. “We are now focusing on providing the audience the chance of exchanging ideas with the speakers,” explains the chief executive of SET, Olimpio Franco. Six panels were organized, in which moderators will mediate discussions with key players in the market, including broadcasters, content producers, vendors and tech companies, for the discussion of innovations from the perspective of producers and consumers.

The themes were chosen amongst the most relevant of the moment: the use of IP technologies in television infrastructure; the latest in satellite services and content production; technologies for sporting events and advanced advertising. Disruptive technologies will be addressed in a session on digital transformations and the 4th Industrial Revolution.

Six leading Brazilian executives are confirmed as hosts: Raymundo Barros, TV Globo; Luciano Possani, Globosat; Thiago Abreu, TV Globo; José Frederico Rehme, iTVC; Raimundo Lima, SBT and Fernando Bittencourt, SET.
