Hot Session: UHD-Brazil Project, a bridge to the future

A decade after the introduction of high definition in Brazil, it is high time that we started thinking about the subsequent advances in picture and sound. In the opinion of the superintendent of SET and chair of this panel, Olímpio José Franco, there is a need to “plan how to facilitate its entry into the world where screens are progressively larger and prettier, but also where personal devices are an unparalleled feature of people’s day-to-day lives, where new formats of audiovisual services are arising all the time.” He goes on to say, “This session will discuss this new world that awaits us, including presentations about two international efforts that aim to prepare us for the future: The International Ultra HD Forum and the WAVE (Web Application Video Ecosystem) Project.”. “We will also reveal how the UHD-Brazil Project is being structured.”
