Cloud and virtualization – what can we expect?

Cloud services and the virtualization of hardware have experienced a significant evolution in recent years in the media and entertainment market, in the wake of an intense quest to reduce costs (and to increase) operational efficiency in business. At SET EXPO 2017, the issue will be dealt with in the panel on “Cloud and Virtualization: reality that is increasingly present in the operations of broadcasters and producers”.

The panel will be chaired by deputy director for Events at SET and engineering manager at SBT, Alexandre Sano, and will consist of Washington Cabral (Client Technical Advisor for Media & Entertainment at IBM), who will talk about how the digital transformation in the media and entertainment sector has transformed how suppliers and broadcasters conceive, design and commercialize products and experiences.

Other participants include Felipe Domingues (Solutions Architect at SAM), and Eduardo Rezende (Solutions Architect at AD Digital).

The former will give a talk on “Software defined solutions”, in which he will explain the dynamics of the market that have led to uncertainty in the media sector, demanding of businesses agile systems that can scale from the top down quickly and economically. Rezende will seek to engage the audience with his proposal that “The cloud will kill half of us … and save the rest!”.

The panel on “Cloud and Virtualization: reality that is increasingly present in the operations of broadcasters and producers” will be held on Wednesday (23) at 4:00 pm.
