AERJ and SET enter into a partnership

SET and the Association of Radio and Television Broadcasters of Rio de Janeiro (AERJ) signed a term of cooperation at the end of November. The signing of the agreement means that the two entities can now embark on joint initiatives, grant their associates mutual benefits and foster the development of Brazilian broadcasting at national and regional level.

The term was signed by the president of AERJ, Daruiz Paranhos, and the president of SET, Olímpio José Franco. The first initiative was the institutional support of the AERJ for staging the SET Southeast Regional Seminar, held in Rio at the end of last month.

Founded in 1981, the AERJ was created to represent and strengthen, to begin with, broadcasting in the states of Rio de Janeiro and Espirito Santo. Over time, Espírito Santo created its own association. The AERJ is currently located on the premises of the Roberto Marinho Museum in Rio.

In recent months, SET has put a lot of effort into drawing the regional associations together. In the opinion of Olímpio José Franco: “We have built very good partnerships with the AERP in Paraná, and the AESP, in São Paulo, and, naturally, we want to replicate this model with the other state entities”. “We believe that this union strengthens the Brazilian broadcasting segment as it defends its interests at such an important moment, with the AM/FM migration and the switching off of analog TV”, he added.

Under the agreement, the AERJ now also becomes an official supporter of SET EXPO.
