SET EXPO shows the challenges and the technological trends of the audiovisual industry

The largest event dedicated to professionals and academics in the broadcast and audiovisual field in Latin America discuss issues involving the viewer profiles, while also showcasing the new arrivals on the market

As technology has advanced, it has revolutionized how people consume information and entertainment around the world, and this movement has directly affected the broadcast and audiovisual industry. Against this backdrop of intense changes and constant adaptation, SET EXPO brings together professionals from all around the world to discuss the challenges facing the segment.

The event, which takes place from August 21 to 24 at the Red Pavilion of the Expo Center Norte, is the largest audiovisual content production and distribution business and technology gathering in Latin America, and one of the world’s largest. This year, 15,000 attendees from different countries are expected at the trade show to check out the latest novelties of the 160 exhibitors showing off their domestic and international brands.

“The audiovisual industry is in the midst of a technological revolution and, in Brazil, SET EXPO is the best place to showcase the effects that these innovations are having on how audiovisual content is produced, commercialized and consumed.  At the Trade Show, we will have the leading global and Brazilian manufacturers debuting their rollouts, while the Conference will host executives from the front line of the development and use of these technologies, such as Google and Amazon”, the President of SET, Liliana Nakonechyj explains.

In addition, this year the trade show will include the Set Innovation Zone pavilion, designed especially to afford visibility to the projects of start-ups operating in the audiovisual sector, searching to break commercial and technological paradigms at any stage of the production chain.

Knowledge and innovation at the 29th Technology Conference

On the fringe of the Trade Show, SET EXPO will also hold the 29th Technology Conference that will bring together around 1,500 attendees and 200 speakers to discuss the leading technological trends for the entire broadcast and audiovisual chain.

“The importance of the SET EXPO Conference lies in the fact that it represents a Brazilian mix of major issues that are to be found at global technology events. In order to relate them more closely to the domestic market, we have adapted them so that they do not bypass the requirements of our market, but we have also included leading technology issues, such as ATSC 3.0, 4K/8K transmission and new kids on the block like drones, virtual reality and augmented reality”, says SET technology director, Carlos Fini, responsible for the Conference schedule.
