ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE / COGNITIVE PLATFORMS / DATA ANALYTICS

Artificial Intelligence has come to stay and revolutionize markets. In the specific case of content production, it has already changed the form of work, performing repetitive and routine activities with high performance. The use of human creativity is potentialized in the events that require this kind of knowledge. In this way, coverage of events that are not very profitable can be fully operationalized by an IA system. In this panel, we will count on experts who will share their knowledge about new technologies and news from the national and international markets in the production of sports, journalism and mass events with little or no human action, using social and data media as a source of information of final consumers.

Chair: Hugo Nascimento - CTO Ad Digital

Graduated in engineering, he has 12 years working in PAY TV projects in several branches such as IPTV, DTH and cable TV. In his career, he has teamed up with leading companies and clients in the market, such as Cisco and Irdeto, as well as projects involving multidisciplinary teams in several countries for Telefonica, Megacable, Claro, NET and his experience includes pre- and post- technical expertise in this market. He has worked in the most demanding markets such as Germany, United States, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Denmark, Spain and others.

Digital migration: assistance or technology?

The use of technology to solve problems is assistance. Scanning deals less on the internet or computers and more on ASSISTANCE, being computers and internet only what makes this assistance feasible. What is important is technology assisting people in different ways. Talk is about specific technologies for building TV, cloud and mobile applications giving the SET audience a snapshot of what is happening in people's lives (us) and how that changes our expectations as consumers.

Speaker: ALberto Menoni - Head of Broadcast Media Entertainment - Google

Business executive with broad experience at prominent companies such as [X], Google, Microsoft, Rio Tinto Alcan and AT&T having built up a solid international career in sales, marketing and partnerships. A successful entrepreneur too, with 8 years leading the fast growth of a Brazilian technology company, Auteq.

Artificial intelligence as an element of Industry 4.0 applied to the creative sector

In this presentation the audience will have access to how the world of M & E among others has been rapidly adapting with the advent of industry 4.0 practical examples of how to apply in today's broadcast market.

Speaker: Washington Cabral - Client Technology Advisor for Media & Entertainment - IBM

Washington has spent the last 28 years of his professional life in the IT field. The curiosity and enthusiasm for new knowledge found the perfect marriage when it started to devote itself in the last 5 years to the media and entertainment sector. The radical transformation driven by emerging technologies facing the industry is the ideal environment to develop disruptive ideas that can make a difference to the future of the industry.

Artificial Intelligence in Media Production and Delivery Systems

This presentation will provide definitions of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Neural Networks, and a broad overview of how they are being used in the media industry (in content creation, content distribution, and back-office applications). It will conclude with a forecast on where these trends are likely to move next.

How artificial intelligence and live football will come together to create better storytelling

Artificial intelligence (AI) has already demonstrated that it will have a transformational impact across many industries. Live sports production is no different. It’s an area which strives for operational efficiencies to deliver more content to an increasingly diverse and connected audience.

Using football as an example, join EVS’ James Stellpflug as he explains how the fast and efficient nature of the machine-learning technology shows it can be used to deliver smarter workflows that allow content producers to more easily output the most engaging content – the ultimate goal being to deliver a better overall live football experience for viewers.

This paper will present a vision of how AI will support the development of live production technology in the coming years. It will teach visitors that with the right machine-learning neural networks in place, AI can be used as a built-in production assistant to perform multiple tasks with the speed and reliability that’s needed within live productions –without having to deploy additional resources.

Whether it’s used to easily add augmented visuals to programming, to automate the improvement of replays or to guide self-directing programs from cameras, AI is a key technology that will be fundamental in delivering better content, faster. Within this presentation, we will further explore the potential future applications for intelligent workflows and present existing use cases that will deliver enhanced storytelling with live football.

Speaker: James Stellpflug - VP Product Marketing - EVS

James is an experienced professional with knowledge in networking design and complex broadcast systems for LIVE event production and worldwide broadcast productions. He have been a Manager of teams in a fast paced environment in the Broadcast manufacturing space, and have taken on roles with enthusiasm, excitement and a result oriented approach.
