Enensys takes OneBeam ISDB-T and Tb OneBeam to the SET EXPO Trade Show

Founded in 2004, ENENSYS Technologies designs and manufactures innovative solutions in professional hardware and software that enables the efficient delivery of video on transmission and telecommunications networks.

In the case of SET EXPO 2017, the company intends to roll out the OneBeam ISDB-T and Tb OneBeam, multiplexing and transmission. The system consists of the TbGateway and TbEdge product that generates the BTS signal at transmission sites.

OneBeam deals with key issues involving the specific nature of the broadcast transport stream (BTS) in ISDB-T/Tb, which is required for transmitting the ISDB-T/Tb signals. The BTS consists of a 204 byte-duration MPEG-2 transport packet stream, which requires adaptation in order to transmit it on the distribution network, while also requiring a 32 Mbit/s bandwidth stream.

OneBeam ISDB-T/Tb enables a (MPEG-2) standard transport stream to be used on the distribution network, eliminating the need for proprietary equipment for delivering and receiving the BTS stream. This also means that the services can be easily monitored along the entire network, thanks to the standardized MPEG signal.

The TbEdge can be used as a stand-alone system to generate BTS for a specific region. However, adding the system to the network affords the operator the additional benefit of being able to control the entire TbEdge from a centralized location. In this case, the TbGateway serves as the focal point of the network.

ENENSYS will also introduce at SET EXPO 2017 the DTTCaster, which allows an off-air ISDB-T/Tb signal to be relayed using ASI and IP. It is designed to provide highly economic retransmission for TDT networks on local/regional transmitter locations where connectivity is via IP (microwave, fiber, etc.) or satellite are just not possible because of costs. The DTTCaster allows reception of content from the network using a simple antenna. Thereafter, it recreates this content on another frequency, providing low-network, high-quality low-cost retransmission. The DTTCaster units are installed on the ENENSYS HD chassis, with a maximum of six DTTCaster units in 1U, allowing reception of 24 RF signals.

Enensys will be in booth 74 on street E6.
