How the multiscreen era affects consumption of media and content

A survey by Provokers: Video Viewers indicates that more than eight out of ten interviewees (82%) admitted using their smartphone while watching TV. Over the last four years, the consumption of video on the web has grown by 135%, and that of TV, by 13%. This data only goes to prove the impact of multiscreens on media and content consumption.

“Consumption of media and content in the multiscreen era” will be one of the panels at the 31st Technology, Media and  Entertainment Business Conference organized by SET. The moderator will be Luis Felipe Grassitelli Camargo, head of transmission, media and entertainment partnerships at Google in Brazil, and takes place from 9 to 10:40 am on August 26. “The intentional of the panel is for us to understand the challenges that brands, and content producers, have faced in this extremely fragmented universe”, says Camargo, who is also president of the video committee of the IAB Brazil (Interactive Advertising Bureau).

To approach the issue in an holistic manner, Camargo will have the company of three executives: Guido Sarti, Head of Convergence at Globosat, Rafael Ramos, Executive Manager for Integrated Media at BRF and a supplier for the DOOH (Digital Out of Home) platform.

“The issue is vital for everyone working in communication and entertainment, so that they understand the challenges that media as a whole faces. To that end, we will offer an end-to-end overview explaining how technology is a fundamental tool for content and to what extent technology has been assisting this entire ecosystem”, he adds.

The 31st SET Technology. Media and Entertainment Business Conference expects to host 2,000 attendees  who will watch 50 panels and 200 talks over the four days of the event.

The program schedule includes topics on radio and audio; AV contribution and infrastructure; innovation and disruptive technologies; content production; audiovisual distribution and regulatory and standardization issues.
